My blady friend Stephanie mentioned last week she was looking for a new nighttime routine and I realized hey! I have one, and I love it! So I thought I’d share it here in case anyone is looking to try something new 🙂 I’ve never been one to stick to a nighttime routine. In fact, I used to sleep with my makeup still on for years. I was just toooo lazy. When you’re tired it feels like just one more thing to do and my bed always looks so cozy and inviting I just want to climb right in once I get upstairs.
However, I am no spring chicken and these days I need to take care of my skin and prevent signs of aging when possible;naturally. I don’t want to be one of those women that don’t look their age, or even look plastic or fake. But I also don’t want to look all leathery or like a Sharpei.
So I tried a few different things focusing on anti aging and staying as natural as I could, while still getting the job done; and now I just love my nighttime routine! I find myself looking forward to it instead of dreading it, and I feel like my skin has been looking better and better.
1. Remove makeup and clean face simultaneously with Burt’s Bees’s Facial Cleansing Towelettes. I loooove these little wipes so so much!!! They remove my makeup easily and leave my face feeling fresh and clean. I use the sage ones because my skin tends to be on the drier side.
2. Roll Frankincense essential oil all over your face focusing on problem areas. This is such a great oil for your skin and your nails! It is supposed to help with wrinkles and anti aging, and is a very grounding oil which is great for bedtime.
3. Apply a light layer of Jason Vitamin E 25,000 I.U cream all over face and neck. This is a dreamy thick moisturizing cream that is also great for anti aging and is free of parabans and other yucky things.
