Lazy Weekend

Not much on the calendar last weekend besides final wedding details–a break from the spotlight that we’ve been craving after the last week’s celebrations. Not that we didn’t LOVE each and every shower and party that we were given,we were so blessed! Still, it was nice to be home for a weekend.

The final countdown has begun with less than 10 days now until the wedding. I had started to move onto my next project and been on a search for a new place. Not knowing the Milwaukee neighborhoods or Wisconsin well made this quite difficult so I have handed that project over to Mike and started an even better one: puppy research! One of the top criteria for our next home is that the landlord must allow dogs. We both have been wanting one for so long, and with a move to a bigger place outside of the city it actually is feasible.  After researching different breeds we decided on the Australian Shepherd. We have not decided if we want a purebred or a mix but we love the Aussie breed from what we have read!

Are you the ladies in room 602?

I have the best maid of honor a girl could ask for. Period. Last weekend, she gathered several of my girls in good ole fashion to celebrate the ending of my single life.

Sarah planned such a great night!

Sarah(my MOH)  and I met Joelle (one of my bridesmaids) at the Hotel Metro to check in and get ready for the night. The room was adorable and we had fun primping and catching up before the rest of the gals arrived.

Once the rest of the party made it to the hotel, Jello shots, drinks, the gift opening, and some fun games followed.

Sarah made some yummy drinks for us

Love these girls!

Later, we hit the town for some delicious dinner at Louise’s and drinks at the bars in Cathedral Square. It was just what I needed! It had been so long since I had had a fun girls night and having some of my closest girlfriends from all over there to celebrate made it even better!

I can’t believe there are only 17 days left until the wedding!! I have been procrastinating on some last-minute details and now have to buckle down and get the final list done. Next weekend is the first weekend in a while Mike and I have nothing planned; so it looks like a weekend of planning and organizing ahead…but we’ll throw some fun in there too 😉

Minnesota Showers

Saturday we all headed to South Haven for the Couple’s Shower our dear friends the  Shvetzoff’s were hosting at their beautiful new lake home.  It was a beautiful sunny day and we took full advantage. After some delicious BBQ we went on a relaxing pontoon ride; the lake water was so clear you could see straight to the bottom! Gift opening, followed by delicious smores made on the grill were a great way to end the wonderful afternoon.

Great gifts!

Sunday my Mom’s best friend Pat hosted a bridal shower for me at her home in Shoreview.  While the ladies headed to another fun bridal event; Mike and my Dad enjoyed some peace and quiet watching James Bond movies ( and napping while watching them). The shower started with some delicious strawberry punch and fun bridal games. Pat made such a beautiful table for the shower decorated with fresh lilacs she picked from her garden, and little pots of flowers she gave as a favor to each guest.  For dessert we had meringues made from scratch with ice cream and fresh berries. It was deli-sh!

Both of the showers were so wonderful and we were again blessed with so many amazing gifts! Mike headed back to Milwaukee with his Mom and Liz on Monday; he had to go back to work Tuesday and I needed to stay behind for my last dress fitting. It was so fun to finally put on the dress and see how it will actually look on me on the wedding day!

Memorial Day weekend and the dress fitting is making this work week a short one which is A-OK with me 🙂 This Saturday is my bachelorette party and I am so excited to see all my girls and have a fun girlie night out!
