This weekend I was lucky enough to be surrounded by some of my closest friends and family. As I mentioned last week, not only was it my graduation weekend; but my Milwaukee wedding shower and Mike’s Bachelor party were this weekend as well! Needless to say it was a big weekend 🙂
My parents and my brother Andre arrived Friday night, and Mike and I took them out to a Friday Night Fish Fry at Brocach. My Mom is a big fan of this Milwaukee tradition and always requests it when she comes into town. After dinner we dropped my parents off at their hotel and went to bed early. The boys had to get some sleep to wake up in time for their 7:00 tee time! The next morning Mike, my Dad, and Andre headed to Wauwatosa to meet up with the rest of the bachelor party and go golfing at Brookfield Hills Golf Course. My Mom and I stayed in at my apartment and had coffee, talked, did my nails, and watched Friends. It was so nice to spend this time with my her!
Later that afternoon we headed to my Milwaukee bridal shower at Pano’s Bar and Grill in Brookfield.
I cannot describe how wonderful it felt to be surrounded by all these women who love and care about Michael and me, and want to celebrate our love with us! Mike’s Mom did an amazing job, and made sure to incorporate my favorite color (Pink) into all the little details from the frosting on the cupcakes to the wrapping paper on the favors. We got so many amazing gifts that I can’t wait to make Mike some yummy treats with 🙂
One of my favorite details of the shower was the bits of advice. Michael’s Mom had a great idea to have all the women write down a piece of marriage advice for Michael and I and they had to read it before I opened their gift. There were so many great thoughts and tips I will treasure them….and giggle at some of them always.
When the festivities were over my Mother and I headed to Mike’s parents house to work on the seating chart with his Mom and found his bachelor party tailgating on the driveway 🙂 They were heading to the Brewer Game later that night, and it was nice to see the boys before they left. They were having such a great time! After we finished working on the seating chart I headed back home to go to bed early. I wanted to be rested for my graduation day!
Before the ceremony I met up with some of my AKPsi Brothers on campus to take pictures at our business school building. We were all bubbling over with excitement 🙂 The rest of the day seemed to fly by….even with a 5 hour ceremony involving thousands of people.
My family had to hit the road as soon as the ceremony was over; they had a long drive back to Minnesota and the weather wasn’t looking too good. They made it home safe and sound and we are excited to see them in MN next weekend! Another weekend of celebrations ahead with two Minnesota wedding showers, getting our marriage licence, dance lessons, and make up trials!
